How old Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, other England stars will be in 2030 World Cup

For the 15th World Cup in a row for England, it has not come home.

The national team, with consistently high expectations for every tournament they play in, has still been vying for its first trophy since the 1966 World Cup. What is intertwined with each tournament that comes and goes is another four years of age England's squad will be subject to.

After coming to terms with a painful 2026 World Cup semifinal loss, England will look forward to the 2030 World Cup, which will be played on multiple continents in Spain, Portugal, Morocco, and Uruguay. Many of the Three Lions' starters will be getting up there in age, and a few of them may be omitted from the 2030 tournament squad.

Here's how old England's important players will be at the time of the 2030 World Cup.

Ages of England players in 2030

England's current squad was most likely at its best during the 2026 World Cup. Many players were either just out of or just before their prime. In 2030, England will have six of their most important players aged 30 or older.

Here's a look at England's most notable 11 players and how old they'll be in 2030.

Sitting atop England's most important players is Kane, who will be 36 years old at the time of the 2030 World Cup. The current Bayern Munich striker has been at the forefront of England's attack for more than a decade now, and those days may be coming to an end in the near future. At the moment, there has been no formal word that Kane will not suit up for England at the upcoming tournament, but perhaps the best chance of Kane's international career to lift a World Cup trophy has come and gone.

Another pivotal name on that list is Bellingham, who will be 27 years old at the upcoming World Cup. The current 23-year-old has already established himself as an integral piece in determining the Three Lions' success due to his ability to both control the team's midfield and advance up the field as one of their best attacking pieces. While it sounds crazy due to how high-quality a player Bellingham is, he still has a few years before he reaches his prime.

An important note to monitor for England is their back line. Their four defensive starters during the 2026 World Cup semifinal against Argentina will be 29 years or older at the time of the next World Cup. While Italy was able to win the 2021 Euro with both of their center-backs (Giorgio Chiellini and Leandro Bonucci) aged 34 or older, the World Cup has proven to be a different beast.

Will Harry Kane play at 2030 World Cup?

At the current time, Kane has not officially stated whether or not he would be suiting up for the 2030 World Cup. After England's 2-1 semifinal loss to Argentina at the 2026 World Cup, Kane was asked by reporters if that showing was his last in a World Cup setting.

"It's too early to talk about that," Kane said to the press. "Me as a person, it's always about taking it year by year and how I feel. The national team is my pride and joy; it's what I love to do more than anything.

Four years is a long way away, and I'm turning 33 in the summer, but as you see on the other end with Leo there, he's still performing at the highest level. I never want to put a limit on these things. I'll address it, every situation, as they come, but for now it's just about processing another tough loss with this team."
