The U.S. Open is giving out a $22.5 million purse for the 2026 tournament at Shinnecock Hills. The purse will be split among the top 67 professionals on the leaderboard after Sunday, as the five amateurs who made the cut are not eligible.
The purse for the U.S. Open is usually among the biggest in golf, as The Players is the only tournament consistently higher at $25 million. The Masters and the PGA Championship offer $21 million and $20.5 million this year, respectively.

Clark will earn $4.5 million for winning the 2026 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills. That number is in line with the other three majors and elevated events on the PGA Tour.
