Rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs is reportedly requesting that he be placed at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey to serve his four-year and two-month prison sentence after being convicted of two counts of "transportation to engage in prostitution." According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons website, FCI is a low-security federal correctional facility in Fort Dix, New Jersey, nearly 70 miles south of New York City.
It is located on the grounds of the Fort Dix military base, currently housing over 4100 male inmates, which includes approximately 3900 inmates at the FCI and about 200 inmates at an adjacent satellite camp.
For the uninitiated, the hip-hop mogul was first indicted for "s*x trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution" in September 2024, following which he was placed at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Centre.
His trial, which took place between May and July 2025, saw the jury hearing testimonies from multiple witnesses, including celebrities such as Cassie Ventura and Kid Cudi. On July 2, he was convicted of two counts relating to prostitution but was acquitted of his more serious charges.
On October 3, Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced the rapper to 50 months of prison, in addition to a $500,000 fine. On October 6, Diddy's legal team sent a letter addressed to the judge, requesting that he recommend the Federal Bureau of Prisons to place Diddy at FCI Fort Dix so that he could utilize the prison's “RDAP” program or Residential Drug Abuse Treatment Program, to "address drug abuse issues” and “maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts."
According to CNN, the federal prison's "RDAP" program is an "intensive" drug abuse treatment program that typically lasts between 9 and 12 months for inmates suffering from substance abuse. Christopher Zoukis, who wrote The Federal Prison Handbook, told the publication that inmates who graduate the program are eligible for a reduction in their sentence.
FCI Fort Dix has previously housed several high-profile inmates, including "Pharma Bro" Martin Shkreli and Real Housewives of New Jersey star Joe Giudice.
US President Donald Trump said Diddy reached out to him for a presidential pardon
US President Donald Trump recently said that Diddy had reached out to him for a presidential pardon. According to The New York Post, the president was asked whether he would consider pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein's co-conspirator, during a press conference at the Oval Office on October 6, 2025.
Trump seemed to deflect from answering the question, saying that he received multiple requests for presidential pardons, including one from Diddy himself; however, he did not elaborate on the supposed request. Referring to the rapper by his old moniker "Puff Daddy," Trump said:
“I’ll look at it. I have a lot of people who have asked me for pardons. I call him ‘Puff Daddy,’ has asked me for a pardon.”On October 3, 3035, Diddy addressed Judge Arun Subramanian ahead of the sentencing, where he begged him for mercy. He also apologized to his family, Jane, and Cassie Ventura, adding that his actions were "disgusting, shameful, and sick."

Judge Arun Subramanian also addressed the court in a 20-minute speech before handing out the rapper's sentence. The judge said he "rejects the defense’s attempt to characterize the ‘Freak Offs’ and hotel nights as intimate consensual experiences or just a ‘s*x drugs and rock ‘n’ roll’ story.” He further accused the rapper of abusing Jane and Ventura "physically, emotionally, and psychologically."
According to the BBC, Subramanian called the evidence against Diddy "massive" and said the rapper had the means and the power to continue his alleged abuse, calling it "subjugation." He also praised Ventura and Jane for coming forward to testify in the trial, adding:
“To Ms. Ventura, Jane, and the other victims here who came forward, I can only say — your families are proud of you and your children, when they’re old enough will be proud of you, and I am proud of you for telling the world what really happened. You were speaking to the millions of women out there who have been victims but feel invisible and powerless and had to suffer in silence."As #Diddy was sentenced to 4 years in prison today, Judge Subramanian closed the hearing with remarks on behalf of #CassieVentura and Jane, saying:“Violence behind closed doors doesn’t have to stay secret forever. I know you still bear trauma. But you’ve taught us, you don’t have to stay a victim.”
Diddy is currently at the Metropolitan Detention Centre while waiting to be moved to a federal facility.
