The 2025 WNBA season has been a difficult one for Fever star Caitlin Clark, and she has been dealt another setback.
After missing nine of her team's first 18 games with quad and groin ailments, Clark returned to the lineup on July 9. That return may have been short-lived, however, as Clark sustained another groin injury in her fourth game back on the court, causing concern and casting doubt for the immediate future.
Clark, 23, had an incredible run of durability throughout her career up to this season. Her absence three games into the season marked the first time she had missed time due to an injury in college or the pros. Now, questions loom around how much time she will miss with her latest setback.

What is Caitlin Clark's injury?
Clark sustained a groin injury late in Indiana's win over Connecticut.
With under a minute remaining in the game, Clark found a cutting Kelsey Mitchell for a backdoor layup. On the pass, Clark appeared to tweak her groin and came up in pain, holding back tears with a towel over her head for the game's final moments.

How long will Caitlin Clark be out?
As with any soft-tissue injury, the time Clark misses depends on the designation and severity of the groin issue.
Earlier this season, Clark missed five games over two weeks with a left groin injury. It was never determined what exactly Clark did to her left groin, but the injury was treated as a groin strain.
