The New York Jets lost another disappointing game to drop to 2-6 on the season, but the team has a bright future.

Besides the fact that many young Jets offensive players have broken out this year, including Braelon Allen, Omar Cooper Jr., and Kenyon Sadiq, New York has more draft capital in the 2027 NFL Draft than any other team in the league. With the way that the 2026 season is unfolding, the Jets could be in for a historic draft class next season.

Not only do the Jets own three first-round picks in 2027, but all three of those picks have a legitimate chance to be in the top 10 of the draft. If that happens, the Jets will make NFL history not done in the last 60 years of the draft's existence.

Here's a look at how the Jets are in store for a transformational draft.

Jets draft picks 2027

After trading Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts and Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys last season, the Jets have three first-round picks in the 2027 draft. Based on the early results of the 2026 season, the Jets would own three picks in the top 10 of the draft.

New York owns the Colts' pick, which is a coup while Indianapolis tears down its team and goes into a full rebuild. Additionally, though, the Jets own the better of the Cowboys or Green Bay Packers pick, which would currently be Dallas' selection at No. 10 overall.

Overall, the Jets currently own picks Nos. 4, 5, and 10 in the draft, which would make them the first team to hold three top-10 picks since 1965.

If the season ended today the Jets would have the 4th (via Colts), 5th (own) and 10th (via Cowboys) picks in the 2027 NFL Draft. Last team to make 3 top-10 picks in a draft was the 1965 Bears (Dick Butkus, Gale Sayers, Steve DeLong)

Jets 2027 draft targets

During the 2027 draft, the Jets need to address their quarterback position and add talent to the defense. At quarterback, New York is in dire need of a franchise leader, and the team hopes that this is the year that it can finally pick the right young quarterback.

While the college quarterbacks haven't quite lived up to the hype, there should be several options for the Jets to consider. Here's a full look at the quarterbacks that could be in play:

  • Drew Mestamaker, Oklahoma State
  • C.J. Carr, Notre Dame
  • Darian Mensah, Miami
  • Arch Manning, Texas
  • Trinidad Chambliss, Ole Miss
  • Dante Moore, Oregon
  • LaNorris Sellers, South Carolina

Additionally, the Jets defense needs an infusion of talent, as the rest of the offense is in good shape moving forward. New York should spend the other two first-round picks on defensive prospects that could include:

  • CB Leonard Moore, Notre Dame
  • EDGE Colin Simmons, Texas
  • EDGE Dylan Stewart, South Carolina
  • DT David Stone, Oklahoma
  • CB Kelley Jones, Mississippi State
  • DT Will Echoles, Ole Miss

TSN's Vinnie Iyer had the Jets taking Carr, Stone, and Jones in his most recent mock draft, but that was when New York's three picks were between 9 and 12.
