Caitlin Clark is coming into her first FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup playing the best ball of her three-year professional career.
Clark and the Indiana Fever enter the three-week break as one of the WNBA's hottest teams. Only time will tell as to whether they will keep that same energy when they return to the hardwood on Sept. 18, but the Fever's scorching 12-4 run to the World Cup break was keyed by an electric Clark -- who has averaged 25.9 points and 9.3 assists over that stretch.

Now in Berlin, Germany for the World Cup, Clark will be among the contenders to win tournament MVP honors if the United States -- already favored -- win a fifth successive World Cup.
Even on a loaded US roster that features Paige Bueckers, Chelsea Gray, Breanna Stewart and many more, Clark already has demonstrated that international basketball agrees with her.

Over five games in Puerto Rico, Clark averaged 11.6 points and 6.4 assists over 21.2 minutes per game as the United States went a perfect 5-0.
The US is likely to win its group in Berlin, where the Americans will be matched up against China, Italy and the Czech Republic.
From there, the US will play a quarterfinal, a semifinal and either a final or a third-place game.
Clark can play six games in all -- and in a short tournament, two or three explosive scoring performances could see her claim MVP over her more experienced teammates.
