How Alix Earle Fixed Oscars Wardrobe Malfunction With a Knife

Alix Earle revealed that she had to get creative before hitting the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party March 15 as her vintage Bob Mackie gown experienced a wardrobe malfunction.

Vanity Fair Oscars Party 2026: Celebrity Red Carpet Fashion

Alix Earle had to MacGyver her way out of a wardrobe malfunction.

While attending the annual Vanity Fair Oscars 2026 after-party at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art March 15, the influencer found that the red beading on her vintage Bob Mackie halter gown faced a bit of an issue, prompting her to take an unconventional method to fix it.

“I just had to go ask someone over there for a knife,” Alix admitted to Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet, “because one of the beading things started coming undone, and I was about to get on the carpet.”

But as the 25-year-old—who was also wearing Kendra Scott Fine Jewelry—explained, as she pulled on the thread “all the beads start flying off.”

“It was like, ‘Someone, I need a knife,’” she laughed. “So we just sliced it a little bit.”

Luckily, once her wardrobe problems were fixed, the TikToker was able to focus on the rest of the night and what she was actually hoping to achieve.

“Maybe I'll get someone's number or something,” Alix, who has recently sparked romance rumors with Tom Brady, quipped. “I can meet someone.”

The comment comes just over three months after the Dancing With the Stars alum confirmed her breakup from Houston Texans wide receiver Braxton Berrios after two years of dating.

Since their split, Alix has been candid about how difficult it’s been for her, especially after the two saw each other for the first time at February’s Palm Tree Festival in Aspen.

“It was honestly just really hard for me—really weird, really hard,” she said in a Feb. 25 TikTok. “I was really emotional. The first night we were in the same place but we didn’t say hi to each other, just because I didn’t want to go up and annoy him, I don’t know, but I could see him out the corner of my eye.”

She confirmed they did briefly say “hi to each other” the following night and despite the short interaction, it brought on a range of emotions.

“It’s weird when you go from someone being like your best friend to being a stranger in the corner of the room,” Alix continued. “So that was tough. And by tough I mean terrible.”
