Houston Texans' Woody Marks gets surprise injury update after Thursday's practice

The Houston Texans have a new injury concern at the running back position.

According to the Texans' official injury report for Thursday, running back Woody Marks was added with a hip issue and was limited.

Typically when a player gets added to the injury report mid-week and is listed as limited, it indicates the player suffered the injury at practice.

Nevertheless, this now puts Marks' Week 9 status in doubt ahead of the game against the Denver Broncos.

The Texans will release their final injury report on Friday and head coach DeMeco Ryans will also address the media, so we should get an update then.

A fourth-round pick in 2025, Marks has gotten more and more involved in the offense as the season has progressed and is making an impact both in the run and passing games while operating in tandem with Nick Chubb.

"Two different styles," Ryans said of Chubb and Marks. "I think Woody's a shifty back, more speed. Getting on the edge just presents some different problems.

"Chubb just consistent power, pressing forward, making plays and making really tough, physical runs. So it's two different guys, two different styles. I think they complement each other well."

If Marks is forced to miss time, Dare Ogunbowale figures to get a boost behind Chubb. Houston also has British Brooks and Dameon Pierce on the roster.
