Houston Texans shine bright against San Fransisco 49ers

The Houston Texans are putting on a show at NRG Stadium on Sunday, controlling just about every stat of their matchup with the San Francisco 49ers.

At halftime, Houston held a 16-3 lead over the 5-2 49ers, as the Texans’ offense had outgained San Francisco 326 yards to just 72. Houston entered the game at 2-4 but has looked far sharper in front of its home crowd, finding rhythm behind an efficient passing attack and steady defensive pressure.

For fantasy lovers, today isn't the best day to have Christian McCaffrey on your team. He's only touched the football twice in the first half, not quite ideal. 

The Texans rallied in the second quarter to extend their lead and were heading into the middle of the 3rd quarter with a double-digit lead. Connections from CJ Stroud are doing the Texans just well this afternoon. On the flip side, the 49ers, one of the NFC’s top teams through seven weeks, have struggled to find a footing against Houston’s defensive front.

If the Texans maintain their current pace, it would be one of their most complete performances of the season — and a potential momentum shifter heading into the second half of the year. The Texans lead the 49ers 23-7 in the middle of the 3rd.
