Houston Stratford junior linebacker Callan Kirk named The Sporting News Player of the Week for Week 5

Houston Stratford junior linebacker Callan Kirk came to play in his team’s 48-7 victory over Cypress Creek on Sept. 25.

Kirk made 10 tackles, including five for loss with 3.5 sacks, to lead the Spartans to their first victory of the 2025 season.

For his efforts, Kirk earned The Sporting News Texas Player of the Week from Week 5 by vote, covering games played from Sept. 29-Oct. 5.
