Alberta-based builder takes home five BILD Alberta Awards spanning home design, energy efficiency and community service

CALGARY, Alberta, Sept. 15, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Homes by Avi has once again been named Alberta’s top large-volume homebuilder, earning the Large Volume Builder Pinnacle Award for the second consecutive year as part of a five-award win at the 2026 BILD Alberta Awards, the province’s annual celebration of excellence in residential construction.

The recognition comes during an exceptional year for the Alberta-based builder. In May, Homes by Avi earned the Design Excellence Award – one of the top overall honours at the 2026 Canadian Home Builders’ Association National Awards for Housing Excellence – along with two national awards for individual home designs. Together, the provincial and national recognition reflects a company that has continued to evolve over nearly five decades while staying focused on how people live, what they need from their homes and the communities around them.

Homes by Avi received five honours at this year’s BILD Alberta Awards:

- Large Volume Builder Pinnacle Award
- Single Family, 2,400 -2,600 sq. ft. – 2025 Stampede Rotary Dream Home
- Multi-Family, 1,400 -1,600 sq. ft. – The Finley (duplex) in Sirocco, Calgary
- Energy Efficiency – The Leonard in The Uplands at Riverview, W. Edmonton
- Community Service – Employee Volunteer Program

The awards also highlight areas where Homes by Avi has made sustained investments beyond individual home design. The company is a Qualified Net Zero Home Builder, and its work in energy-efficient construction was recognized this year through The Leonard in Edmonton. Homes by Avi has also received an AvidCX Benchmark Award based on verified homeowner feedback, reinforcing its focus on the customer experience as part of how it measures success.

The Community Service Award recognizes another part of that broader approach. For more than 25 years, Homes by Avi has partnered with Calgary’s Jack James High School, giving more than 3,000 students hands-on experience in residential construction through the building of 25 homes. The company has also committed $1 million over five years to support construction education at SAIT and NAIT, helping invest in the next generation of Alberta’s skilled workforce.

The single-family award for the 2025 Stampede Rotary Dream Home carries its own history: Homes by Avi has built the Dream Home for 30 years, making the recognition part of one of the company’s longest-standing community partnerships.
