“Home Improvement” star Zachery Ty Bryan has been sentenced to 19 months in an Oregon jail for violating his domestic violence probation.

Bryan, 44 — who is currently serving a 16-month sentence in a California jail for a 2024 DUI arrest — appeared virtually in court on Friday to receive his sentence, reports local Oregon outlet KEZI News.

“The sentence was excessive. It was ridiculous. Zachary [sic] has experienced a lot of trauma. He has an alcohol problem. Putting him in jail or prison is not going to help the situation,” Zachery’s attorney, John Kolego, told TMZ of the sentencing.

“Poor use of resources. I’m very disappointed in the judge. Zachary [sic] attended the hearing remotely. He apologized to the court, he said he wants to be the best father he can be, acknowledged he needs help with his alcohol problem and the judge slapped him with this sentence,” the attorney’s message continued.

A rep for Bryan did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

The sentence stems from Bryan’s November 2025 arrest, when he and his girlfriend, Johnnie Faye Cartwright, were both taken into custody after the former child star violated the terms of his domestic violence probation.

Bryan has been convicted twice of domestic violence against an unnamed Oregon woman in 2020 and 2023.

For the latter, he was ordered to serve a three-year probation sentence — which prohibited contact with the victim, leaving the area without permission, consuming alcohol, or committing new crimes — until his sentence was scheduled to end in 2026.

He ultimately pled guilty to the probation violation.

However, Bryan’s legal troubles don’t end there.

The actor is also facing more potential jail time for a DUI arrest in Oklahoma.

Authorities plan to extradite him at some point to Oklahoma following his release from custody in California.
