The Cleveland Guardians and their franchise history have some kind of connection to July 26.
In summary, it's a busy trade day.
Does that actually have any bearing on what will happen on July 26, 2025? No.
But is it interesting? Heck yeah.
Check out the history thanks to this post on X:
Totally random but July 26 has been a very busy day in Cleveland baseball history trade wise.
2023: Amed Rosario
2009: Mark DeRosa for Chris Perez
2008: Casey Blake for Carlos Santana (& Jon Meloan)
2006: Ben Broussard for Shin-Soo Choo
MORE: Nick Kurtz is youngest player in MLB history to hit 4 home runs in one game
The trades for Choo and Santana are two of the best deals Cleveland has ever made, so the Guardians would certainly sign up for one of those kind of trades on this Saturday.
Cleveland will be at the ballpark a long time, with a scheduled doubleheader against the Royals. That could mean a wait-and-see approach to the trade market, or it could spur action if the front office gets tired of watching and instead wants to wheel-and-deal.
Might as well add to that hefty list with another July 26 trade.
