Hiking Influencer Hannah Moody's Cause of Death Revealed
Hannah Moody's cause of death has been revealed one month after her passing.
The hiking influencer—who was found dead along a trail in Scottsdale, Ariz., last month—died on May 22 of "environmental heat exposure," according to a report on the Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office's website that was viewed by E! News.
Her manner of death was determined to be accidental.
The content creator was reported missing by her friends on May 21, though the initial search was called off later that evening, per a May 22 press release from the Scottsdale Police Department.
The following afternoon, her body was found near the Gateway Trailhead of Scottsdale’s McDowell Sonoran Preserve. She was 31.
Shortly following the tragedy, Hannah's mom Terri Moody expressed her grief over losing her daughter.
“It's numbing," she told Arizona’s Family on May 28. "I feel like it’s not real."
At the time, Terri also shared that Hannah's cause of death was a "mystery" to their family.
"We’re trying to piece it all together," she continued, "because we don’t know of any conditions that she had or anything like that that would have caused anything."
And while Hannah's loved ones didn't have the answers they wanted yet, Terri insisted that they didn't expect foul play.

"We’re all assuming it was heat-related, but you know that’s inconclusive," she said. "There were no signs of foul play."
Additionally, she thanked her community for showing their support amid the searches for Hannah, who had over 45,000 followers on Instagram.
“The fact that there were so many people who loved and cared for her that took on that role," Terri explained, "We’re really grateful for that."
And closing out her message, she reflected on her daughter's love of the outdoors.
“Anytime she could climb on top of something and look out over the nature and see the sunrise or the sunset," Terri shared, "those were her favorite things to do.”
