Here's who should win the 2025 men's Money in the Bank contract, results and storylines

The WWE shook up their PLE schedule a bit from 2024, with Money in the Bank taking place in June instead of July. A late Wrestlemania weekend, this time at the end of April, has things a bit shaken up as the promotion looks to try and gain a foothold amid sagging ratings and a general level of apathy towards the current storylines.

Both men's championships could be seen to be a bit of a dud. After John Cena turned heel and ended Cody Rhodes' year-long reign as universal champion, Rhodes went on a much-deserved vacation but Cena's schtick hasn't gone over as well as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson had hoped. Meanwhile "Main Event" Jey Uso is as popular as ever, but his limitations in mic work have certainly been an impediment to his storyline the Raw team has had to overcome.

So with the winner of the Money in the Bank ladder match having a chance to take a shot at either title, here's a look at the potential paths for each of the six competitors.

Penta

Since joining the WWE earlier this year, Penta has become one of the most popular wrestlers in the brand. He has a ton of swagger along with a unique move set, but the WWE would likely need to draw out his contract to build up some level of rivalry for his chase.

Pointing him at either Cena or Uso at this point doesn't make much sense, but he could easily be vaulted into the picture over the course of several months. He's mostly been pointed at Chad Gable and the Judgment Day, with some interaction with Bron Breakker. Only Breakker truly has a world championship pedigree currently, and as Seth Rollins' henchman, he's being delayed for now.

El Grande Americano

Can someone please put an end to this corniness? Gable as El Grande was funny for about 2.5 seconds, but the WWE keeps leaning into this anti-Luchador schtick. Anyway, Gable is actually a solid wrestler, but he's only won tag titles up until his recent run as Speed champion, a designation that holds little weight to the fandom.

If he were to emerge with the contract on Saturday night, pointing him towards Cena seems like a royal mic mismatch, so perhaps waiting on the American Nightmare to regain the belt is the best storyline.

Andrade

There's no way Andrade is climbing that ladder on Saturday.

L.A. Knight

Knight is perhaps the dark horse here as he seems deserving of getting a shot at the big chair. He also doesn't do his best work unless he has the belt, but pointing Knight at Cena would be an incredible battle of some of the best mic workers in the game.

Solo Sikoa

Sikoa has been in the world title picture before, but he might be the one person who makes the most sense not to go after a lesser title. His brewing feud with US Champion Jacob Fatu is one of the more fun current storylines as fans keep waiting for Fatu to turn his back on the manipulative character who "brought" him to the WWE.

Seth Rollins

Rollins is the odds-on favorite to emerge with the contract, because he already has warned Uso that he's coming for the title, and has enough background with a ton of top talent that his run at the belt could have multiple smaller storylines along the way. A return of Roman Reigns awaits any Rollins run, and rivalries with CM Punk and others could dot any pursuit or title run.

Would love to see Rollins win the contract, then cash in the same night. If the men's match is before the tag-team between Rhodes/Uso and Cena/Paul, then the stage is clearly set for Rollins to emerge from the back, with Breakker and Bronson Reed in tow, to overpower Rhodes and Uso and cash in to take Uso's belt.
