"Happy Gilmore" built up a huge following in the last 30 years, creating a huge amount of hype for "Happy Gilmore 2".
The sequel finally comes after fans have been asking for it for many years, showing that the original was one of Adam Sandler's biggest hits. As a result, many athletes wanted the opportunity to cameo in the new movie, and Sandler granted them their wish.
It should come as no surprise that most of the athletes in the movie are golfers, considering the movie centers around a professional golfer. However, a few other familiar faces are also in the movie, creating a star-studded affair that goes beyond the Hollywood names.

Athletes cast in 'Happy Gilmore 2'
Travis Kelce
The most famous athlete appearing in the movie is Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, but he won't be playing himself. The veteran appeared in the extended trailer wearing what seemed to be a waiter's red vest, so he may not even be playing an athlete at all.
Kelce did confirm that he plays a waiter in the movie on his podcast, and he described his scene as "one of the bigger scenes" at the start of the movie.

— Starcade Media (@StarcadeMediaKC) July 18, 2025Adam Sandler praised Kelce for his acting and his demeanor on set.
"Travis is such a gentle, nice guy, and funny as hell," Sandler said, via People.com. "He's like the guys I grew up with. When I was with Travis, it reminded me of my buddies in high school and just being able to laugh and say the things you want to say."
Lee Trevino
Trevino had a notable cameo in the first "Happy Gilmore", playing himself as Gilmore pursued professional golf. The 85-year-old seems prepared to return for the sequel, probably for a similar role.
John Daly
Daly appears to have a very special cameo in "Happy Gilmore 2". The 59-year-old has a deep conversation with Gilmore in the movie, seemingly about how Gilmore will pay for his daughter's ballet school education, which is shown in the extended trailer to the movie.
Collin Morikawa, Xander Schauffele
Morikawa and Shauffele are two of many golfers appearing in the movie, and both made an appearance together in the trailer. Both Morikawa and Schauffele were wearing the movie's signature gold jacket in the trailer, which indicates that they won the movie's championship tournament.
Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau, Scottie Scheffler
Arguably the three best golfers in the world right now, Scheffler, DeChambeau and McIlroy all make cameos in "Happy Gilmore 2". All three were featured in the trailer when they were hitting balls off the driving range.
Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth
Thomas and Spieth are lifelong friends, so it makes sense that they would appear in "Happy Gilmore 2" together. Thomas is seen prominently in both the teaser trailer and the extended trailer, as he plays with Happy's group in the teaser then films Gilmore getting in a fight with another golfer, potentially Spieth, in the extended trailer.
Will Zalatoris
Zalatoris may not be playing his best golf right now, but he is still one of several golfers who got a cameo. The 28-year-old appears to have a fun role also, as he plays with Gilmore and even gets to get some anger out on a blow-up doll in the extended trailer.
Brooks Koepka, Rickie Fowler, Keegan Bradley
These three golfers are all listed as having "Happy Gilmore 2" cameos on IMDb, but they didn't appear in any of the trailers. However, like many of the other golfers in the movie, these three will likely play themselves.
Jack Nicklaus, Corey Pavin
Nicklaus, the winningest major golfer in the sport's history, is expected to play himself in the movie. Pavin, a one-time major winner in 1995, is also listed as having a cameo as well.
Jacob Friedman
MJF appears to have one of the bigger roles among athletes in "Happy Gilmore 2". The wrestler will play Gilmore's son in the movie, and he even beat up Gilmore's car at one point in the extended trailer.
Boban Marjanovic
Marjonovic appears to have an extremely fun cameo in the movie. The NBA center, who is listed at 7'4", seems to be playing the follow-up to Mr. Larson, the giant who was a big part of the first movie. That character was played by Richard Kiel in 1996, but Kiel passed away in 2014.
Marjonovic continues his pivot to Hollywood, as he's appeared in the John Wick series before and Adam Sandler's basketball movie, "Hustle".
