David Roach has shared a shocking health update.

The Junkyard frontman and his fiancée, Jennifer, took to Instagram on Thursday, June 26, to reveal that the heavy metal rocker has been hospitalized amid his ongoing battle with skin cancer.

While the band first announced that Roach was fighting “an aggressive cancer diagnosis” back in January, a GoFundMe page set up in March further revealed that the “Hollywood” singer was battling “aggressive squamous cell carcinoma” affecting his “head, neck, and throat.”

“First off, we want to thank you all for the overwhelming support and love you’ve shown us during this incredibly challenging time,” Roach and his fiancée’s post began last week. “We wish we could respond to each of you, but honestly, there are no words right now.”

“We’re still struggling to process the news we received on Tuesday,” they added.

The couple explained that Roach had to visit the emergency room due to an “ongoing fever and cough” and, upon being admitted, he received “devastating” test results that “completely shattered our world.”

“It’s devastating and life-altering, and we’re trying to navigate through the emotions and uncertainty that come with it,” they stated.

However, they assured Junkyard’s fans that Roach remains “incredibly strong and resilient” amid the news, adding he has managed to “keep his sense of humor” despite the “dark” times.

“It’s a reminder of how amazing he is,” the post read.

“But we know this journey ahead will be extremely tough, David made it clear he is not giving up hope and we’re going to need all of your love and prayers,” they continued.

Roach and his fiancée vowed to take the “Simple Man” singer’s devastating cancer journey “one step at a time,” and they ended their announcement by thanking Junkyard’s fans and followers for their “kindness and support.”

“Thank you for standing by us,” they concluded alongside a picture of Roach in a hospital bed and flipping off the camera with one hand while making a peace sign with the other. “Your kindness and support mean everything to us. Please keep David in your thoughts as we take this one step at a time.”

Roach first joined Junkyard as the heavy metal band’s frontman in 1987. Although they disbanded five years later, they got back together in 2000. They released their most recent record, “High Water,” in 2017.

Following the initial news of Roach’s “aggressive cancer diagnosis” earlier this year, Junkyard began selling shirts, plaque art and other merch to help raise money for his “overwhelming” medical expenses.

The band also created the GoFundMe page for Roach, which has so far raised almost $28,000 of its $35,000 goal.

“Let’s come together to support David during this critical time,” the page read. “Any donation, no matter how small, will make a huge difference and help him focus on what matters most—his health and recovery.”
