Heat predicted to sign $21M high-motor 7-year veteran to pair with Giannis Antetokounmpo

The Miami Heat have made a good number of moves this offseason, which is great for the future of the team. Acquiring Giannis Antetokounmpo was a huge reason for the team to go out and add players who have had major success throughout their careers.

However, the team has one final roster spot, and they can fill it with anyone. After being linked to Gabe Vincent, it looks like they could go with another guard.

“I do think the former Heat guard Gabe Vincent has some fans in this building and some fans on that roster who would love for him to be back into the fold, right now it's looking like Miami is not a outcome for Gabe Vincent. But I do think Miami's roster isn't exactly done and the guard position will be something they look at moving forward," Bleacher Report's Jake Fischer said.

A guard recently became available for the team. Heavy.com's Alder Almo believes the Heat can sign John Konchar.

“The 30-year-old has spent seven seasons in the NBA carving out a role as a connective wing who rebounds, defends and keeps the ball moving without needing touches. He averaged 4.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists last season, though his 28.3% shooting from 3 was a concern. The appeal is fit,” Almo wrote.

Konchar became available after being waived, giving Miami another potential option for its final roster spot.

“The Timberwolves announce that they have just waived John Konchar," NBA insider Brett Siegel wrote.

Konchar can shoot when he is needed, but he is also a solid defender who can get the job done on that end of the floor. Miami just needs to add someone who is the right fit for the 15th spot on the roster.

Konchar has made $21 million throughout his career. The good thing about the seven-year veteran is that he has a motor that can help get a team going. The Heat adding Konchar would continue what has been a strong offseason.
