Pete Crow-Armstrong’s emergence has been the talk of the town recently in Chicago.
The center fielder has become one of the best players in baseball in his third season — with fans and pundits alike weighing in on the outfielder’s impact.
Jon Greenberg, a columnist with The Athletic, certainly agrees with the common sentiment around the MLB that no one is doing it like PCA these days.
“ The young man known by his three initials is already a can’t-miss kind of athlete. If the game’s on TV and he’s at the plate, on base, or, heck, just in the outfield, you don’t leave the screen until he’s back in the dugout because you never know what he’ll do,” Greenberg wrote.
“And just to prove there is no task too large for him, Crow-Armstrong almost single-handedly saved the first leg of the crosstown series from turning into a three-day snooze-fest.”
“When it comes to Chicago baseball, you might say PCA has got more pop than the pope.”
PCA truly is the talk of the town in the Midwest, with the Harvard Westlake graduate becoming a star for a team on the rise.
Along with Kyle Tucker, the Cubs have continued a remarkable rise towards the top of the division. With the continued emergence of a legitimate MVP candidate in PCA, Chicago will only continue to surge.
The Cubs are 28-20, with the St. Louis Cardinals 1.5 games out of first place in a competitive NL Central.
