AEW recently sent wishes to a former champion who has been absent for a long time. Jack Perry, one of the most controversial stars in recent times, hasn't been seen in the Jacksonville-based promotion since November 2024. He lost his TNT Championship to Daniel Garcia at Full Gear and hasn't appeared on TV after that.
Tony Khan tried to make the most of the heat he received after his dispute with CM Punk. The Scapegoat gimmick was a huge hit at first, but fans started to lose interest in it as time went by. He made a couple of appearances for NJPW amidst his AEW absence. During his time in the Japanese promotion, it seemed like All Elite Wrestling has forgotten about him.
After almost seven months of absence, AEW's social media handle recently wished Jack Perry on his birthday.

Jim Cornette slams AEW for pushing Jack Perry
Tony Khan had high hopes for the Scapegoat, but his character didn't live up to the hype as many expected.
While speaking on his Drive-Thru, Jim Cornette stated that Jack isn't a star as he neither draws money nor an audience.
"I don't know how they think he's a star. He's a star in their eyes, in their world. He just doesn't sell any tickets, draw any money, get anybody to watch, or particularly have great matches," he said.It will be interesting to see when the former TNT Champion returns to the Jacksonville-based promotion. Fans are also curious about what his position would be in the Elite, as things didn't end in a good way for their alliance the last time they met.
