On December 16, 2025, BTS surprised fans by appearing on a live broadcast with all seven members. The group went live on Weverse directly from their dance rehearsal studio, hosting two short live sessions that lasted approximately 2 minutes and 12 minutes.

During the broadcast, the members shared that the live was unplanned and that they decided to connect with fans spontaneously while rehearsing. As the members sat together, j-hope took charge of reading comments from viewers.

During the live, he noticed a familiar fan comment and pointed it out, saying that “Yoongi marry me” comments were still appearing consistently. This led to a brief exchange among the members.

Taehyung commented that the phrase had become outdated. Jimin added to the exchange by joking that Yoongi should have at least one person in his heart by now.

RM followed by joking that Yoongi might have already signed marriage papers without the group knowing. During the exchange, Suga, aka Yoongi, appeared amused yet unfazed, before briefly replying,

“uh… marry me,”

The rapper’s response not only made the members burst into laughter during the live, but clips of the exchange also spread rapidly across social media afterward. Fans reacted by sharing their thoughts and revisiting the long-running inside joke. Soon after, the phrase “Yoongi marry me” began trending on X, recording more than 10,000 mentions.

The phrase has been a recurring part of BTS live comments and fan interactions on social media since before the group enlisted for military service in 2022. It has remained an ongoing inside joke among BTS, ARMY, and Suga since around 2020–2021O.

After the live on December 16, fans expressed emotional reactions, noting that despite the passage of time and BTS returning from military service, the dynamic between the group and fans remains unchanged. Several fans also focused on Yoongi’s reaction during the live. One fan commented,

"Members reading comment, "Hyung, 'Yoongi marry me' continues to keep coming up" and look at his shy smile he's so cute"

Several viewers described his expression as "adorable", with some suggesting that he appeared to be blushing while responding to the moment.

His reaction was so adorable 😭

THE FACT BTS STILL TEASING YOONGI WITH THE 'YOONGI MARRY ME~~' AND HOW HE STILL GETS FLUSTERED OMG SO ADORABLE🫶🥺

Some fans noted that BTS’s group dynamic remained consistent over time. They highlighted that the phrase continued to amuse the other members as well as Yoongi’s reaction of shy smile remained unchanged. Others pointed out that following the rapper’s 2024 DUI case, the comment took on added significance, serving as a reminder that fans continue to support and care for him just as much as before.

Their faces hahaha they’re still the same i swear I love them 🫂

He’s so soft for us. The way “Yoongi marry me” keeps popping up and he does that shy little smile… 🥹 And him saying it in that soft, calm voice… “marry me.” 😭😇 Because he gets it. He knows it’s for us, with love, and he knows it’s going to make us smile. He knows it’s our

I used to get so annoyed by all the “yoongi marry me” comments (and I still do on other members’ lives) but in a post incident world, I am so happy he is seeing people still constantly yelling for him to be their husband. WE LOVE YOU, YOONGI, WE ALL WANT TO MARRY YOU
