Creep I.E. Aftermath was missing two scream queens this year.
Indeed, Scream 4 star Hayden Panettiere and Scary Movie actress Tori Spelling both canceled their scheduled appearances on July 11 and July 12 at the horror convention in Ontario, Calif. due to emergencies.
"Hayden Panettiere has an emergency and will not be able to attend this weekend," Creep I.E. Con shared in a statement on its Instagram account July 10. "We are looking forward to her appearing at an upcoming show."
While the event did not disclose specifics regarding the actress' emergency, her reps told People that the cancellation was "due to a private family matter concerning the health of an elderly relative."
As for Spelling, Creep I.E. Con shared that she, too, pulled out of the convention at the last minute following an "emergency."
"Tori Spelling has an emergency and can no longer attend," the organization wrote in a similar Instagram statement. "New replacement guest announced later today."
Face/Off actress Dominique Swain and The Sarah Connor Chronicles star Brian Austin Green were later announced to replace Panettiere and Spelling, respectively.
Panettiere, 36, and Spelling, 53, were among the many horror film stars scheduled to appear at Creep I.E. Aftermath. As for others on the lengthy list of star-studded guests? Jamie Campbell Bower, Fiona Douriff, Christopher Lloyd, Mira Sorvino and Tara Reid are just a few.
Yet, Panettiere and Spelling were not the only expected attendees who dropped out. After all, Christina Ricci, John Carroll Lynch, Carel Struycken, Jimmy Workman and Kevin Durand either rescheduled or canceled their appearances, per the Creep I.E. Con website.
The event—which took place July 10 through July 12 at the Ontario Convention Center—teased Panetierre's special appearance alongside her Scream 4 costar Nico Tortorella as a "very rare" reunion.

And while her roles in the Scream franchise are just three out of the many projects Panetierre is known for throughout her successful career, that doesn't mean she's on board with her daughter Kaya, 11, whom she shares with ex-fiancé Wladimir Klitschko, potentially following in her footsteps one day.
“I started getting calls from my 11-year-old about being interested in the industry,” she told E! News in a May 19 interview, admitting the prospect is a bit of a “nail-biter.”
“I always want to support whatever she wants to do," Panettiere continued, "but I am trying to guide her towards, let's not rush into anything. Why don't you try a few things out and have a college experience?"
