Hawks save Bucks' season in dramatic potential trade for cheap rising star

The Milwaukee Bucks, having started the season 4-8, went into the year with title expectations and are currently behind the Detroit Pistons and Charlotte Hornets in the standings. The Bucks are in desperate need of added shooting and defense and have been included in their fair share of mock trades to help solve that problem.

Unfortunately for the Bucks, they don't have the draft capital to acquire a high-end talent from a rebuilding team, but they might be able to swing a trade with the Atlanta Hawks for their best defender and a tried-and-true shooter.

Leading the league with 3.6 steals per game, 21-year-old guard Dyson Daniels has been exceptional for the Hawks this season. While Atlanta is not inclined to part with him anytime soon, his value has never been higher, and if the Bucks offer a blockbuster trade package, the Hawks' front office might not be able to refuse.

In addition to Daniels, the Bucks could target career 38.4% 3-point shooter Bogdan Bogdanović. The Bucks rank 17th in 3-point percentage and 16th in defensive rating, so improving around the margins has to be a priority.

The Hawks won't let those two key players go for cheap, but if they add Seth Lundy to the package, they could send Daniels and Bogdanović to the Bucks for Brook Lopez's expiring contract as well as rookies Tyler Smith and AJ Johnson.

By trading away those players, the Hawks would be waving a white Flagg on the season, but with two unseasoned rookies coming back in the deal, a rebuild might be able to happen quickly down south.
