Hawks predicted to get star rookie, top-3 lottery pick in this wild trade proposal

The Atlanta Hawks need to make some important decisions this offseason. Are they going to continue to build their franchise around Trae Young? Or do they want to make the Hawks trade rumors come true with a bold move to change directions? Let’s look at one wild Hawks trade proposal that could set the team up for a very bright future. 

One Reddit user put together a crazy Hawks trade idea that, although intriguing, is probably too bold to happen. 

The hypothetical Spurs trade proposal looks like this: 

Spurs trade: Stephon Castle, 2025 number two overall pick

Atlanta Hawks trade: Dyson Daniels, 2025 number 13 overall pick, 2031 first-round pick

This trade would be an absolute home run for the Hawks. Not only would they pick up this season’s rookie of the year, but they’d also get a top pick in this loaded 2025 NBA draft. 

Giving up Dyson Daniels and the 2031 first-round pick isn’t nothing, but by 2031, ideally, Castle, this year’s draft pick, Jalen Johnson, and whatever else the Hawks could get in a potential Trae Young trade would be a playoff team. 

This Hawks trade idea gives the Hawks a clear path towards rebuilding for the future. If they did this trade, it would have to be paired with a Trae Young trade as well. If that trade returned young players and picks as well, the Hawks would be set up for a very successful pivot towards rebuilding.
