The Pentagon released its fourth batch of UFO files Friday following President Trump’s declassification order, including footage of a mysterious six-pointed object off the coast of East Asia.
The latest files — while containing no proof of alien life — add to the diversity of unexplained phenomena revealed since May, which have run the gamut from well-documented moving orbs to a more thinly sourced spotting of an enormous crystal potato-shaped object over Colorado.
The Trump administration, including the FBI, is treating UFOs as a national security threat that warrants more investigation — though they have offered no evidence to back longstanding claims of government coverups of alien landings or the secret retrieval of extraterrestrial bodies.
A star-shaped object spotted over the Yellow Sea between China and the Korean Peninsula last year. U.S. Dept. of WarAlthough officials reviewing the files have attempted to assess their credibility and determine whether natural explanations — such as weather balloons, atmospheric gases, or advanced foreign technology — exist for the sightings, those determinations often are not contained within the files.
The six-pointed star-shaped apparition — one of the most surprising elements of the Friday release — was documented last year over the Yellow Sea that separates China and the Korean Peninsula.
An 18-second video shows what at first seems to be a crack in a video camera screen, but upon further review is an object being tracked by the military’s Indo-Pacific Command.
“The sensor pans to track an area of contrast resembling a six-pointed star, keeping it generally centered within the center of the screen,” a summary of the file narrates.
A different report from the US Navy describes a jellyfish-shaped UFO, possibly a balloon, over the Atlantic Ocean in 2020.
“A U.S. military operator reported observing an object, describing the phenomenon as darker, maroonish color, approximately 12-15 feet in height,” the file says.
President Trump ordered the release of all UFO files held by the Pentagon earlier this year. ZUMAPRESS.com“The report describes the phenomenon ‘travel[ing] with the wind’ and noted that it did not ‘maneuver or change direction.’ It also describes the phenomenon as appearing as a ‘large, somewhat deformed balloon.'”
Trump, who ordered the rolling disclosure earlier this year, has said repeatedly that he is skeptical about the existence of alien life, but mandated transparency about UFOs after former President Barack Obama said of aliens during a February interview: “They’re real, but I haven’t seen them.”
Some of the files have provided new hope of cracking the mystery around specific cases.
US officials have pinpointed a location in the Northeast, for example, where orbs regularly appear — having been documented by a resident near a secluded pond and then verified in late 2024 by a team of FBI agents.
However, any findings and the precise area of those sightings remain secret.
