Harvard Medical School rocked by intentional explosion, two spotted fleeing detonation

An explosion, believed to be intentional, rocked a Harvard Medical School building early Saturday morning, authorities said.

The unidentified device exploded on the fourth floor of the Goldenson building on the Harvard Longwood Campus’s main quad shortly before 3 a.m., The Harvard Crimson reported citing authorities.

Two individuals were witnessed fleeing the building at the time of the detonation, the report stated citing the Harvard University Police Department.

The Boston Fire Department determined the explosion was intentional and conducted a sweep of the building which found no additional devices, according to the Crimson.

No injuries were reported.

Sources familiar with the investigation told The Post the explosive device was not a bomb but declined to further detail the incident.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is at the scene as part of the investigation, The Crimson reported.

The Boston Police Department declined to comment.

Harvard University Police Department could not be reached for comment.
