India's World Cup 2025 winning captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, will feature for the Mumbai Indians (MI) once again in the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2026 season. She was retained for ₹2.5 crore ahead of the auction.
Harmanpreet Kaur is also the captain of MI in the WPL. In the three editions so far, they have won the title twice. She led them to victory during the inaugural season in 2023 and once again in 2025. They are also the defending champions.
On the other hand, Rohit Sharma began his IPL journey with the now-defunct Deccan Chargers in 2008. He joined MI in 2011 and has been with the franchise ever since. Rohit also led them to five titles in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020. He played a massive role in making them among the most successful franchises in IPL history.
