For most, Bill Belichick is a first-ballot Hall of Famer for the work he did with the New England Patriots over nearly two decades.
The 17 division titles and six Super Bowl wins have Belichick at the pointy end of the great coach of all time debate.
But it appears that not everyone feels the same due to Bill's and the Patriots' scandals that happened during his time in New England, with "Spygate and Deflategate" for some, taking the shine off what was accomplished.
And as the NFL Hall of Fame voters got together, apparently, Bill only got 40 out of 50 votes needed to be inducted for the first time.
One voter, who spoke with ESPN, said the big reason Belichick isn't a first-ballot Hall of Famer comes down to one thing.
"The only explanation [for the outcome] was the cheating stuff," a veteran Hall voter told ESPN on Tuesday. "It really bothered some of the guys."

Surely Bill is a first ballot Hall of Famer, right?
For most, he absolutely is.
Even with those "indiscretions" on his resume, what Belichick did in New England isn't likely to be beaten by anyone in football.
But apparently, some of the votes have held that against him, and whether you agree or not, the hornet's nest has been stirred.
Some reactions online have stated that the voters' names should be made public because the decision not to include Belichick as a first ballot Hall of Famer is ridiculous.
We certainly haven't heard the last of this.
