A “screaming” half-nude man was arrested after stealing an ambulance from paramedics at the scene of a fatal stabbing in California, according to reports and authorities.

The madman hijacked the ambulance parked near Downey City Library, where one male suspect allegedly fatally stabbed another man in the neck before paramedics arrived on Saturday morning, KTLA reported.

The joyriding suspect was “unrelated to the homicide investigation,” the Downey Police Department said in a statement.

Video obtained by the local outlet filmed near an Embassy Suites showed officers on foot and in patrol vehicles chasing the unhinged man behind the wheel of the ambulance as he sped out of the library’s parking lot.

One woman could be heard yelling, “He’s stealing the ambulance,” as sirens blared.

The 10-mile pursuit ended when the man, 52, crashed the ambulance into a parked vehicle in Alhambra, the outlet reported.

Video of police arresting the suspect showed the man’s pants falling to his ankles, leaving him in just a pair of underwear.

Police dressed the man before taking him into custody.

Witnesses said the man would not be cuffed quietly and was “screaming” throughout the entirety of the arrest.

“When I came back, he was still screaming. He’s still screaming in the car, in the police SUV, right now, even right now,” witness Alan Kwong told KABC.

The stabbing victim died at the library, with witnesses stating they saw the bloody altercation unfold by an EV charging station, KTLA reported.

The stabbing suspect, a 23-year-old homeless man, fled on foot toward a local high school and was arrested by police near the campus, KABC reported.

Both the homicide suspect and the ambulance thief are in custody. Police have not released the names of either of them.
