Saturday's game between the No. 4 Indiana Hoosiers and the Michigan Wolverines was must-see TV. It was a defensive slugfest for the entirety of the game. However, the officiating crew took away the fun from the action.

Fox analyst Joel Klatt and play-by-play announcer Gus Johnson voiced their frustrations with a particular call in favor of the Hoosiers. Indiana was awarded 15 yards and an automatic first down.

Quarterback Josh Hoover threw a pass to Lee Bebe Jr. before being grazed on the helmet by Tariq Boney, a first-year student defensive end for the Wolverines. That was Michigan's only penalty of the game.

Joel Klatt: "Oh, come on, guys. What are we doing?" Gus Johnson: "Come on now. My goodness." Joel Klatt: "I understand protecting the quarterback. But when you graze with a thumb across the forehead, like, what are we doing?" 🏈🦓🎙️ https://t.co/Kakbcxhy5I

The refs called a roughing-the-passer penalty, and the Hoosiers got a new set of downs and 15 yards.

Klatt disapproved of the call: “Oh, come on, guys. What are we doing?” Johnson agreed with: “Come on now. My goodness.”

The penalty yardage did not result in points for Indiana, and it made the call being more pointless. The Hoosiers were 4 of 14 on third downs, and Hoover only completed 8 of 18 passes for 81 yards.

Indiana will head back home to host Minnesota on Saturday, October 31 (3:30 p.m. ET, CBS).
