A man was shot and killed in a parking lot near the Santa Monica Pier early Monday morning, prompting a murder investigation as authorities search for the gunman.
Officers responded to the 1550 block of Pacific Coast Highway around 12:30 a.m. after reports of gunfire, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.
