The Cleveland Guardians, sitting at 53-54, are on the verge of selling at the deadline. While their two top relievers are unlikely to be moved, especially after Emmanuel Clase's sports betting investigation by MLB, the Guardians might not have a lot to move.
However, All-Star outfielder Steven Kwan has been drawing significant interest in the trade market this season. And according to Zack Meisel of The Athletic, the Guardians outfielder is not just drawing calls, but is desired by the Philadelphia Phillies.
"In addition to Clase," Meisel writes, "teams have called about Steven Kwan. He's the exact player the Phillies desire in left field."
But, while the Phillies may have a lot of interest in Kwan, so much so that they desire him, the chances of Kwan being traded aren't great. While they could get something great from the Phillies, there's potentially a better return in the offseason.
With more teams involved in the offseason, the price could go up, and they could get a better return for trading away Kwan. But, even if the Guardians swing a deal with the Phillies at the trade deadline, the return will be enormous.

Kwan this season is batting .285 with nine home runs and 37 RBIs. He also has 5 0runs scored, 111 hits, 20 doubles, one triple, 39 walks, and 27 strikeouts.
His OPS of .761 is the second-best on the Guardians, so losing him wouldn't come lightly. Hence, the Guardians would need to receive a strong offer from the Phillies, or any team, looking to land the Gold Glove left fielder.
The 27-year-old would net a great return, but the Guardians, even with the Phillies' desire to land Kwan, aren't expected to trade him this season. Their offense is struggling enough; moving on from their second-best hitter would make things even worse.
A Kwan trade is much more likely in the offseason. But, for now, even with plenty of teams calling, including the Phillies, the Guardians aren't likely to trade the All-Star outfielder.
