The Cleveland Guardians and Jo Adell don't exactly feel like a stylistic match, through no fault of Adell's.
In recent years, the Guardians have managed to overachieve by doing a lot of the little things, by being crafty and pesky.
Adell, the Angels outfielder, is loud.
He's an imposing athlete with powerful skills. He's a former top prospect, too.
There's something about Adell that feels very un-Guardians.
Despite that, he's actually a very logical trade target for Cleveland. They could use someone like him.

The Guardians have gotten better in the outfield this season thanks to Chase DeLauter and Angel Martinez, although both are out temporarily with injuries. But in the recent past, outfield hitting has been really poor in Cleveland.
Adell is the kind of guy who could change that.
In a new article, ESPN's Jeff Passan and Kiley McDaniel list Adell as a trade candidate and mark the Guardians as one of the "best fits" to get him.
"While Adell's power numbers have dipped and his walk rate remains comically low, he is a talented 27-year-old who could flourish in the proper situation," the ESPN duo writes. "Considering Angels owner Arte Moreno continuously tries to win -- without putting in the resources necessary to actually win -- Adell is likely to remain in Anaheim. But if this is the year the Angels decide to join the 21st century, Adell could find himself playing in a postseason for the first time."
Adell is also under contract through the end of the 2027 season, so he's not a total rental, which would likely appeal to the Guardians, as well.
Cleveland has enough prospects to pull off a deal for Adell, if the Angels are willing to acknowledge that it might be better to look toward the future.
