Grizzlies' Desmond Bane has worst playoff game in NBA history according to this stat

The Grizzlies started their playoff series against the Oklahoma City Thunder on the wrong side of history. Desmond Bane took the brunt of the beating. 

The Memphis guard played 27 minutes of the 131-80 drubbing of his team. In those 27 minutes, Bane was a -51. That's the worst plus-minus in the history of the NBA playoffs.

Bane ended with 9 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 turnovers in the brutal beating. Of course, he wasn't the only Grizzlies' star that had an atrocious plus-minus.

Bane actually started out strong, scoring the first bucket of the contest. He added another nifty finger-roll layup later in the quarter. But it was all downhill from there. 

The Thunder went on a 42-11 run from the first quarter into the second and rode that momentum the rest of the way. The 51-point victory is the largest in a game 1 in NBA history.

Despite his poor play in game 1, the Grizzlies will need Bane to step up as the series progresses if they want to make this a competitive affair. The guard averaged 19.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.2 assists for Memphis this season. 

If nothing else, Bane's horrid performance will just blend in with the rest of his team. The bad news is that it will be hard to break this record.

Bane will likely be on the wrong side of the history books for a long time.
