Preston Ordone, Known on TikTok as “Okay Baby,” Dead at 2 After Car Accident
Preston Ordone’s grandfather is speaking out.
After the Louisiana State Police Department confirmed the 2-year-old TikTok star’s death April 24, his grandfather is disputing the department’s claims that Preston—also known as Okay Baby—was “improperly restrained in a child safety seat.”
Glen Norris, the father of Preston’s mother Katelynn Ordone and father-in-law of his dad Jaelan Ordone—who both sustained injuries in the fatal accident—alleged that a witness who arrived at the scene of the accident said the toddler was properly restrained in his seat.
Glen told NOLA.com on April 25 that he was informed by the witness that when he removed Preston from the vehicle, the toddler was properly restrained in the seat. Furthermore, Glen called the police’s statement "hurtful and painful."
The preliminary police investigation found that Katelynn and Jaelan’s 2011 Ford F-150 truck veered off the road and struck a tree shortly before 11:50 a.m. in St. Tammany Parish, approximately 50 miles north of New Orleans, according to the Louisianna Police Department. They were taken to nearby hospitals, where Katelynn and Jaelan are recovering. Preston died at the hospital, after suffering critical injuries.
E! News has reached out to the Louisiana State Police for comment on Glen’s allegations but has not heard back.
In a pinned comment on the LPD’s original statement, the department emphasized that the information provided about accidents is gathered through their initial investigations and never used to shame anyone involved.
“We do not do this with the intention of causing embarrassment, anguish, or anger,” the comment from April 25 read. “Our goal is never to add to the pain, but rather to fulfill our responsibility in this age of information. The Louisiana State Police must, when legally required, provide answers to the media and the public, ensuring transparency and accountability in the process.”

The news of Preston’s death was announced by family members in a TikTok video shared April 27, saying that Katleynn and Jaelan’s 7-year-old daughter Paisley Ordone was at school during the time of the crash.
Following Preston’s death, his family reflected on the toddler’s internet presence.
“He made people smile, laugh, I know you guys look forward to seeing him every day,” family member Carson Matranga said. “I know in heaven right now, if there’s mud in heaven, he probably has found it and is jumping and dancing in it. Running up and down the streets of gold. And his overalls. He probably has golden overalls. We’re going to miss him a lot.”
