Week 2 in D2 kicks off with an intersectional matchup as West Texas A&M travels to face Grand Valley State on Thursday night.
It's the second straight ranked opponent to open the season for the Buffaloes, who absorbed a 52-21 home defeat to No. 11 Western Colorado last Thursday. Big plays were the killer there, as West Texas A&M surrendered four touchdowns of 50 yards or longer.
No. 9 Grand Valley opened its season in West Virginia with a 38-10 romp over Charleston, as the Lakers scored 31 unanswered points after falling behind briefly in the second quarter. Andrew Schuster led the offense, throwing for 244 yards and three touchdowns without an interception, but GVSU also tallied 206 yards on the ground.
