Princess Alexandra of Hanover — granddaughter of legendary Hollywood actress Grace Kelly — is engaged to her longtime boyfriend after 10 years together.
The royal, 27, announced Friday that she is set to marry Ben-Sylvester Strautmann, 27, sharing photos from the proposal and a look at her yellow diamond engagement ring.
“The marriage plot,” Alexandra captioned her Instagram post, adding several yellow heart emojis.
In the first photo, Alexandra cuddled up to her fiancé while showing off her ring. She also shared a photo of the ring while holding her beloved long-haired dachshund, Eloise.
The ring was designed by Antinori di Sanpietro and features a 4.8-carat Fancy Yellow diamond chosen by Strautmann, according to Tatler. Two trillion-cut diamonds flank the center stone, which is set in 18-carat yellow and white gold.
The engagement quickly drew warm messages on Instagram.
“Aah congratulations,” Princess Diana’s niece, Kitty Spencer, wrote alongside red heart emojis.
“Congratulations!!!!” Alexandra Leclerc, the wife of Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc, commented, followed by red heart emojis.
Strautmann was born in Lower Saxony, Germany, and moved to Monaco as a child.
He and Alexandra moved in similar social and academic circles while growing up in the principality.
The couple were first seen together publicly in late 2016 and confirmed their relationship the following year.
They also share a love of sports. Alexandra competed as a figure skater and represented Monaco at the 2015 European Youth Olympic Festival, while Strautmann played basketball for Monaco’s under-18 national team.
The pair have been spotted together at major sporting events, including the Paris Olympics and the Monaco Grand Prix.
Alexandra is the daughter of Princess Caroline of Monaco — Grace Kelly’s eldest child.
Caroline married Prince Ernst August of Hanover in 1999, and the couple welcomed Alexandra that same year.
Alexandra is also the niece of Monaco’s reigning Prince Albert II, Caroline’s younger brother.
Kelly, who starred in Hollywood films before marrying Prince Rainier III and becoming Princess of Monaco, has 11 grandchildren, including Alexandra, influencer Camille Gottlieb, fashion model Charlotte Casiraghi and actress Jazmin Grace Grimaldi.
She died in September 1982.
Alexandra currently sits 13th in the line of succession to the throne.
