Having spent seven seasons playing for the New York Yankees, second baseman Gleyber Torres began a new chapter in his career as he signed with the Detroit Tigers ahead of the 2025 season.

The Venezuelan enjoyed a strong first year with his new team, finishing the regular season with a .256 batting average, 16 home runs and 74 RBIs, while also earning his third All-Star selection midway through the campaign.

Through all the highs and lows of his big league career so far, Gleyber Torres' wife, Elizabeth, has been a constant source of support for the 28-year-old. She is often spotted at the ballpark cheering for her husband whenever he is in action.

With the season now done and dusted, Gleyber Torres can afford to spend time enjoying things outside of baseball, and it appears his better half is also following suit.

On Monday, Elizabeth Torres enjoyed a tranquil afternoon at the beach. Sporting a purple bikini, she took a number of pictures against the picturesque ocean backdrop, which later made it to her Instagram profile.

Per sources, Gleyber and Elizabeth first crossed paths in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, back in 2014. They dated each other for about three years before eventually tying the knot.

The couple welcomed their first child, a son named Ethan, in 2022.

Racing out of the blocks to start the season, the Detroit Tigers had established themselves as clear favorites to win the AL Central by the time the season reached it's halfway point. However, a late collapse saw them miss out on winning the division, having to contend with qualification to the postseason via the wildcard instead.

In the very first playoff series they played, the Tigers squared up against familiar foes the Cleveland Guardians, who had recently got the better of them in the regular season. This time, however, the Tigers got their revenge, eliminating Cleveland after winning two out of three at Progressive Field.

Unfortunately for Gleyber Torres and company, that was where their postseason success would come to an end, as they were eventually eliminated by the Seattle Mariners in the ALDS.
