Brooks Nader Slams “Creepy” Ex Gleb Savchenko After His DWTS Comments
Gleb Savchenko is taking a stand.
Nearly five years after the Dancing With the Stars pro's divorce from Elena Samodanova, with whom he shares kids Olivia, 15, and Zlata, 8, he filed a request for an emergency child custody order for his teenage daughter, accusing his ex-wife of keeping his children in Hong Kong since 2023, according to court documents obtained by E! News.
In the July 13 Los Angeles Superior Court filing, Savchenko, who was married to Samodanova from 2006 to 2021, claimed his ex broke their June 2023 Post-Judgment Agreement, which stated that their daughters were allowed to "temporarily" live in Hong Kong with their mother for "one year."
Instead of returning Olivia and Zlata to the U.S. by June 2024, Savchenko said Samodanova has remained in Hong Kong, "obtained permanent Hong Kong residency, enrolled the children in an expensive private school, got the children a cat, became engaged, and had another child with her fiancé."
The professional dancer added that Samodanova, who welcomed a baby girl with Vladislav Kvartin in December, has "essentially established her life with her fiancé and our children, in Hong Kong, without my permission that they remain with her."
"This has functionally forced me to travel to Hong Kong each year to visit my children," he explained, "which I have consistently done despite Elena's efforts taken to drastically limit my access to our daughters."
According to Savchenko, Olivia—who is currently staying with him in Los Angeles—will "suffer irreparable harm" if she can't remain in California with her father, adding that she has "expressed her strong desire" to remain living with him and wants to attend Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks when the new school year begins in August.

Beyond her extended residence in Hong Kong, in the docs, Savchenko—who, like Samodanova, was born in Russia—accused his ex-wife of taking Olivia and Zlata to Russia and Vietnam on trips "without my permission," emphasizing his particular concern about his daughters traveling to Moscow as Russia's war against Ukraine continues.
Because of this, he said he's concerned that his daughter returning to her mother in Hong Kong could "result in an international wrongful retention/abduction of Olivia."
Ultimately, Savchenko is requesting "temporary emergency sole legal and physical custody" of Olivia with no visitation from Samodanova pending a court hearing, along with an order that Samodanova "be restrained from removing" Olivia from California.
E! News reached out to reps for both Savchenko and Samodanova for comment but has yet to hear back.

For her part, Samodanova denied her ex's claims, asserting Hong Kong is Olivia's home.
"The statement from Mr. Savchenko's attorney misrepresents our family's reality," she told TMZ July 15. "As Olivia's primary caregiver, I have raised her every day while Gleb worked full-time on DWTS. Today, Olivia thrives in Hong Kong. She attends a top school and is an elite ballroom dancer."
"Gleb's actions directly jeopardize her future, education, and athletic progress. California lacks jurisdiction over our daughter," Samodanova continued. "Hong Kong is Olivia's permanent home and legal residency. Ironically, Gleb himself holds a Permanent Resident card there."
While Savchenko alleged in his filing that Olivia "was able to travel to California to visit" him from June to July, Samodanova claimed the teen "was scheduled to return to Hong Kong on June 5th, but her father wrongfully canceled her ticket without my permission."
The 43-year-old added, "This is a wrongful international retention."
Samodanova concluded her statement by claiming her ex's emergency filing is "a rushed attempt to bypass proper laws," before asking the court "to halt temporary orders and grant a continuance so my counsel can present Olivia's permanent records through the correct legal channels."
