Tom Brady and Philip Rivers had many battles over the last two decades. Rivers initially retired after the 2020 season, while Brady hung up the cleats in 2023.

Tom Brady is a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders' starting quarterback, Geno Smith, is enduring one of the worst seasons of his professional football career.
There have been calls for Tom Brady to pull off a Philip Rivers and take over the QB1 job in Las Vegas. Brady believes that he can still compete at the highest level, but he'll need a month to get back in playing shape.
Tom Brady's Las Vegas Raiders are on an eight-game losing streak
The Las Vegas Raiders are one of the worst-performing teams in football. Tom Brady's team has lost eight consecutive games and is rooted to the bottom of the AFC West.
The Raiders have long since been eliminated from playoff contention. So, there's little reason for Brady to come out of retirement and replace Geno Smith as the franchise quarterback. It's a different scenario with the Colts as they're still in contention to make the playoffs.
The Raiders are performing well below their preseason expectations. Their offense has been lackluster, their defense uninspired, and the development of Ashton Jeanty leaves a lot to be desired. Head coach Pete Carroll is on the hot seat as the season comes to an end.
Next up for the Raiders is a matchup against the red-hot Houston Texans. It's a game that the Texans are heavily favored to win. Some difficult decisions will be made in Las Vegas at the end of the season.
