Brian Daboll's New York Giants have a decision to make ahead of the trade deadline. Due to rookie Abdul Carter's form, the team has suddenly impressive depth at the pass rush.

Carter is the latest addition to a group that includes talented veterans Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux. That leaves Thibodeaux as the rusher most likely to be dealt before the November 4, 2025, deadline.

Kayvon Thibodeaux is in the final years of the 4-year, $31,339,038 contract he signed in 2022. So, the Giants might deal him this year to get the most value ahead of the trade deadline.

Kayvon Thibodeaux has amassed a stat line of 2.5 sacks and 21 tackles in the 2025 season. He could put up significantly higher numbers playing for a team where he's their primary linebacker. So, there'll be a lot of eyes on the Giants ahead of the deadline.

Brian Daboll's Giants are dealing with major season-ending injuries

The New York Giants' once promising start to the season has been derailed by injuries. Two major injuries stand out and have ended potentially stellar campaigns for young stars.

The first was Malik Nabers' ACL injury. The Pro Bowler wide receiver suffered the injury in the second quarter of his side's Week 4 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

Nabers underwent tests, and the team website reported that he'll miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL. The star wide receiver will now focus on recovery and look to join his teammates on the Gridiron at some point in 2026.

The other major injury for Brian Daboll's Giants occurred in Week 8, when Cam Skattebo suffered an ankle injury. The rookie running back was enjoying an impressive 2025 season up to that point, but had to leave the Gridiron on a cart against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Skattebo suffered the injury after a pass from fellow rookie Jaxson Dart in the second quarter, and he couldn't play anymore. The Giants later announced that the Arizona State product underwent season-ending surgery Sunday night.

Brian Daboll's side must now deal with the losses of their WR1 and RB1, and put together a couple of wins to avoid an early elimination from playoff contention. They currently have a 2-6 record, and their next game is against the San Francisco 49ers.
