Giants trade rumor could result in deal with Packers, Raiders, Bears or Bills

The New York Giants are expected to trade one of their edge rushers this offseason and the Las Vegas Raiders, Green Bay Packers, Buffalo Bills and Chicago Bears could come calling.

According to ESPN's Jordan Raanan, the expectation is the Giants are going to deal Kayvon Thibodeaux at some point as the team looks to unload some salary to clear cap space.

The Giants are one of the few teams in the NFL that can actually afford to subtract from their edge rushers room thanks to the presences of Abdul Carter and Brian Burns.

Thibodeaux has shown flashes of being an impact edge rusher during his career, but the past two seasons have been a disappointing because of injury and ineffectiveness when on the field.

However, Thibodeaux is still just 25 years old and there will be teams interested in acquiring his services to see if he can return to his 2023 form, when he tallied 11.5 sacks, which was a career-high for him.

Four teams that could have interest are the Raiders, Packers, Bills and Bears.

The Raiders traded Maxx Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens on Friday night, and with Malcolm Koonce hitting the open market, Las Vegas desperately needs multiple additions along the edge.

The Bears were one of the teams believed to have interest in Crosby, but clearly that did not pan out and Chicago is still looking for another edge rusher to play opposite Montez Sweat.

The future of Rashan Gary in Green Bay is unclear and there remains a chance he gets cut or traded after a lackluster 2025 season. If that happens, the Packers will need to replace him.

Buffalo will see Joey Bosa hit the open market on Wednesday and chances are he has played his last snap for the Bills. Without Bosa, and with A.J. Epenesa also hitting free agency, Buffalo doesn't have a starter across from Greg Rousseau.

It's estimated that Thibodeaux will cost an early Day 3 pick, which is logical considering his stock is down and he's in the final year of his contract.

We don't think it's at all outlandish to think any one of those four teams would be willing to part with such a selection to add Thibodeaux.
