Giants trade pitch lands former 1,282-yard rising star playmaker for Jaxson Dart

The New York Giants have been incredibly active on the player acquisition front this offseason, but the team could make another splash move to upgrade the receiver room for second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart.

FanSided's Austen Bundy believes the Giants should look to trade for Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr.

"General manager Joe Schoen is desperate to keep his job and not be pushed out by John Harbaugh's regime, so taking a home run swing for [Malik] Nabers' former LSU teammate - perhaps sending one or two of the pass catchers on the roster back to Jacksonville to sweeten a deal - could very well be in the cards," Bundy said.

Thomas has been thrown into trade rumors this offseason after a down year in 2025, where he tallied just 707 yards and two touchdowns on 48 receptions and struggled with drops.

Though Jaguars general manager James Gladstone shot down the trade rumors surrounding Thomas, there's still a chance Jacksonville could move him if the right package presents itself.

New York would be a logical landing spot for Thomas. The 23-year-old would reunite with his college teammate at LSU, Malik Nabers, and the two would form a dynamic receiver duo.

The Giants have just two top-100 picks in April's draft, but they could package some 2027 picks to land Thomas from the Jaguars, depending on whether they change their mind on making the young receiver available for trade, and what Jacksonville's asking price is.

During his rookie year in 2024, Thomas looked like a budding superstar, posting 1,282 yards and ten touchdowns. The former first-round pick could regain that form in 2026 and would be a home-run addition for the Giants as they look to surround Dart with as much talent as possible.
