The San Francisco Giants will soon need a replacement for Mike Yastrzemski. He's a free agent after this season.
Their long-term answer could be in the upcoming MLB Draft.
With the 13th pick, the Giants should have options. ESPN predicts San Francisco to take University of Arizona outfielder Brendan Summerhill.
"Not only does Summerhill look the part at 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds, his offensive game matches it: .343/.459/.556 with 22 extra-base hits in 207 plate appearances for the Wildcats," ESPN's Jeff Passan writes. "While he can man center field, Summerhill profiles better in right, where the Giants need a long-term solution with Mike Yastrzemski's impending free agency. Summerhill does not have a huge ceiling. He's just a good all-around ballplayer for a team striving to be solid top to bottom."

That's a great description of a guy that the Giants would be thrilled to end up with.
Yastrzemski made an MLB career out of his time in San Francisco. He hadn't made it to the majors until he came to the Giants. Now, Yaz has played 771 games for the Giants and has hit 113 home runs.
He'll turn 35 in August, though, and is likely on the downswing of his career.
Summerhill wouldn't be ready for the big leagues right away, but there are ways to fill that gap, including maybe a one-year re-sign for Yastrzemski.
Eventually, Summerhill would grow into the player who can take over right field in San Francisco, which would be a great outcome.
