Giants no match for Rams as Jaxson Dart injury hangs over lopsided loss

What could go wrong for the Giants did in a 28-6 loss to the Rams on “Monday Night Football,” in a game where the story was who got injured as much as the final tally.

The Giants did not score a touchdown in the lopsided loss and watched as Jaxson Dart left the game with a knee injury in the first quarter, raising concerns about the second-year quarterback’s health.

He was one of several players who gave Giants fans an injury scare, with Malik Nabers leaving the game briefly with a shoulder issue, and then late in the game, Andrew Thomas was checked out in the medical tent and Brian Burns had to be helped off the field.

The Giants’ only points in the game came off a pair of field goals by Dominic Zvada in the second and third quarters, while the Rams jumped to a lead when Matthew Stafford found Davante Adams for a 31-yard touchdown pass in the closing seconds of the first quarter for one of the receiver’s two TD catches on Monday.

Adams’ second touchdown catch came in the third quarter in an 11-yard catch to help make it 21-3 in favor of Los Angeles.

The Giants will return to MetLife Stadium for Week 3 when they host the Titans as they look to get another win on their record.
