Giants might have MLB clubs 'lining up' to add for three players by trade deadline

The San Francisco Giants have not had a good 2026 season at all, considering all that's been invested into this roster in recent years.

Now, the Giants are looking likely to be trade deadline sellers. As a seller, the hope is that some players draw significant interest. Rafael Devers, Willy Adames, and Matt Chapman are all on the trade block.

But, rather than those three expensive veterans, Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter identified three other trade chips who are likely to have MLB clubs "lining up" to acquire them at the MLB trade deadline this summer.

Giants have 3 trade chips who can get MLB teams to line up at Giants' door for a deal

"Even if that group (Devers, Adames, Chapman) stays put, and they steer away from shopping Jung Hoo Lee in the midst of a breakout season, they still have several intriguing trade chips that contenders will be lining up to acquire," Rueter writes.

Those intriguing trade chips are the three following players Reuter identified as the Giants' top trade chips this summer: "1. SP Robbie Ray, 2. Luis Arraez, 3. SP Tyler Mahle."

Robbie Ray, the veteran Cy Young winner, is a fantastic trade option for clubs eyeing rotation help this season. He's a free agent after the season's over, and with a 3.39 ERA, he's someone many clubs would love to add.

Luis Arraez might be one of the more fun trade chips in all of baseball this season, with the $12 million second baseman putting together a legitimately great year both defensively and offensively for the Giants.

Tyler Mahle might not be as good, posting a 5.67 ERA with -0.5 bWAR, but as a cheaper rental, he's the kind of player a club like the Philadelphia Phillies, that doesn't want to spend a lot in the starting pitcher market, would be interested in.

Sure, the big names like Adames, Devers, and Chapman might draw more attention, but, especially when it comes to Ray and Arraez, there's bound to be plenty of teams calling Buster Posey and the Giants hoping to trade for those two by the deadline.
