The New York Giants don't look like a team willing to move on from guys right now, though there's still plenty of football left before the NFL's trade deadline.
The Giants are also 3-1 and lead the NFC East, a very promising sign for a team that was hoping to improve this year.
With head coach John Harbaugh, there was hope and expectation that the Giants were going to be a better team, but to say that this was going to be a team that had a chance to win the division with the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys didn't always seem very likely.
The Giants will have to ultimately decide whether they want to move on from some guys if they start to struggle, especially with Jaxson Dart's injury.
However, that doesn't look likely right now. That's why the discussion about moving on from Kayvon Thibodeaux seems like a moot point. Despite that reality, CBS recently suggested that he could be available and the Cleveland Browns could be an option to land him.
“Thibodeaux has been the subject of trade rumors for quite some time now. It remains to be seen if the Giants would want to move him for a Day 3 pick, but why not if Joe Schoen/John Harbaugh have no interest in signing him to a new deal? A change of scenery could give him a boost.
“Potential landing spot: Cleveland Browns,” CBS wrote.
Thibodeaux hasn't been the same type of player over the past two seasons when it comes to getting to the quarterback.
He hasn't posted a sack this season and only had 2.5 a year ago. In 2023, he was one of the best in football at getting to the quarterback, finishing with 11.5 sacks.
Still, he's a valuable piece of this Giants’ defense, and if the team keeps winning, moving on from him doesn't make much sense.
