The New York Giants are just weeks away from making some crucial decisions during the 2025 NFL Draft that will shape the future of the franchise.
Though the discourse has been dominated by what New York will do with the No. 3 overall pick, and rightfully so, there are other dynamics to keep in mind when the biggest weekend of the offseason rolls around. Among them are the potential trades that can go down.
As the draft board comes together, some teams may opt to trade a draft pick for an established veteran or a young player in need of some new scenery. For the Giants, it seems they may have a potential trade partner in the New York Jets for wide receiver Jalin Hyatt, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini.
"A name to watch may be Jalin Hyatt with the Giants, who could be the odd man out in that receiver situation, especially if they go out and draft like a Travis Hunter up high in the draft. (Hyatt is) more of a vertical threat than anything else," Cimini said on the "Flight Deck" podcast (around the 19:00 mark).
Hyatt, a third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, is entering his third season in the NFL after what has been a disappointing start to his career. Despite having the profile of a viable deep threat, he's failed to consistently crack the starting lineup through his first two seasons. The arrival of Malik Nabers, along with the stability of Darius Slayton and Wan'Dale Robinson has pushed Hyatt down the depth chart.

After posting 23 receptions for 311 yards during his rookie campaign in 2023, Hyatt took a major step back in Year 2. The Tennessee product was a non-factor during his second season, recording just eight receptions for 62 yards.
At this point, it seems unlikely the Giants are going to get much out of Hyatt considering the depth chart ahead of him so it might be in their best interest to recoup some draft capital in a potential trade.
