The 2026 season has not gone as planned for the San Francisco Giants. While having a good roster on paper, it hasn't transitioned into consistent series wins.
The offense has not lived up to expectations at all. While there are a few bright spots, the team sits 23rd in MLB in terms of overall run production and 20th in home runs.
On top of that, the rotation and bullpen have been highly volatile. Logan Webb is nearly the only arm doing anything worth noting, which isn't a recipe for success.

Giants continue to bring up the rear in latest power rankings
Last week, the Giants did get off to a solid start. They faced off against the Atlanta Braves in what was supposed to be a three-game series, but inclement weather allowed only two games to be played.
There, they were able to handle one of MLB's best teams. They swept them in those two games, but their three-game series against the Miami Marlins later in the week would be a different story.
They struggled to carry that momentum into Miami, losing all three games. And with this, Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter has decided to keep the Giants in last place in his latest power rankings.
"The Giants are reportedly open to offers for Rafael Devers, Willy Adames and Matt Chapman at the trade deadline, which is the June equivalent of a team waiving the white flag. One player they don't intend to trade is ace Logan Webb, and after tossing eight strong innings on Sunday, he now has a 0.87 ERA in 31 innings over his last four starts."
Fans should be preparing themselves for this team to be sellers rather than buyers at the deadline. Reuter mentions their willingness to throw out some big names ahead of the deadline.
What they have currently is not working, and it may be better to think about the future than to try the large uphill climb of making up ground in the division.
