The New York Giants lost 40-37 to the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium to drop to 0-2, and Russell Wilson's heroics aren't the main headline.
The penalties are, with 14 of them for 160 yards being the major thorn in New York's side.
But we go one further, with offensive lineman James Hudson having a nightmare start to the game as he was flagged for four penalties on one drive, making him the first player since 2000 to have four penalties on the same drive per, NFL on CBS.
As a result, head coach Brian Daboll benched Hudson and put backup lineman Marcus Mbow in the game for a couple of plays before Hudson came back into the fold.
And post-game, Daboll revealed why he made that decision, although from our standpoint, it was an easy one to make.
“He had a number of them [penalties]," Daboll said. “I thought, let’s just put Mbow in, settle it down a bit. Again, it’s not like he wants to go out there and have these penalties. Get the one where the guy slipped and he hit him in the head, just thought at that particular time, put Mbow in after it was four penalties or three, that’s the reason why.”

Penalties a plague Giants can't ignore
One could easily make the case that had New York been a little more buttoned up, Daboll's team would have emerged with an upset win over the Cowboys, but the penalties constantly meant Wilson and the offense were swimming against the tide.
Hudson's four on the first drive set the tone for what would be a tough game to watch, with so much laundry hitting the field, the referees will need an ice bath to recover.
The painful thing is, New York did enough to win, but those costly penalties at crucial times made life incredibly difficult as the franchise now slumps to 0-2.
But hey, at least Hudson made history, right? Even if it is unwanted.
